About Me

21st Century Network was set up to discuss some of the great issues of our millennium and bring back the hope that we can do something about it. This is a group for those who believe that we need to develop a new form of humanism that includes people of all religions and none but who embrace humanistic values as the basis of their actions. These are values of global compassion, personal self-discovery, shared development, planetary concern and a love of community. One commentator states,

"I think this group has the potential to make a very important contribution on a number of global challenges that are and will affect our lives in the future. By inviting members of the public, NGO practicioners, policy makers and government representatives to these meetings the group could become an important think tank on a number of issues fostering important linkages between the state and civil society in Britain and beyond. Join this group and be part of this process."

Look at our meetup site where we have over 1150 members at http://www.meetup.com/21stCenturyNetwork/ or look at our Blog at http://21st-centurynetwork.com/blog/

Interests

We use social network sites to get new audiences of people interested and involved in the major issues of our day and often to link them with politicians so that we can begin to make a difference. We already have over 1150 members on meetup and over 1000 friends on myspace.

Social Action Groups : Nov 14, 2008

Our meeting on December 11th at 6.30pm will be about our Social Action Groups. Coordinators of each group will tell us what is happening in their group and what their plans are. We will then break up into how many social action groups we have by then so members can find out what is happening and decide if they wish to take part.

This is a chance to get the social action groups off the ground and to plan for the future. It is also a chance to see what other groups people are interested in and see how we can start them up..

To find out more and let us know you are coming along then vist http://www.meetup.com/21stCenturyNetwork/calendar/9052898/

As 21st Century Network has developed we have formed a number of social action groups for those interested in taking further action on some of the many issues that we discuss. These groups will differ in what they do depending on the subject and the people who form them. But this is one way of getting people involved in the areas that interest them. At the moment we have several social action groups established. Others will begin to appear as the months go on so please check back for the latest information.

* Climate Change

* Fair Trade

* Civil Rights

* Immigration & Human Trafficking

* Social Business

We also have and Events coordinator interested in developing activities around art and entrainment and social change.
